BAGUIO BOYS' VALENTINES

AN UNDYING LOVE OF CULTURE
A POEM FOR VALENTINES:
I CAME BUT LIKE A STRANGER I ALMOST WHISPERED
TRYING TO BE FRIENDLY AT FIRST AND NOT WAKEN
A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN WHO IN HER YOUTH TINKERED
THE MAN WITHIN ME BECAME A BIT PIOUSLY SHAKEN

I WONDERED BUT WITHOUT DOUBT I WROTE TO YOU
AND IN THAT MESSAGE I SAID I REALLY LIKE TO MEET
YOU MIGHT HAVE FELT I WAS LOST AND SO SILLY TOO
FOR ASKING FRANKLY THE THINGS THAT ARE DISCREET

THE YEAR WAS PAST WE ALMOST WROTE EVERY TIME
SAYING HOW I INTEND TO MAKE FRIENDS GREAT TO BE
FOR THERE IS ONE THING YOU SAID THAT MADE CHIME
WHEN YOU SAID "ANY OTHER WOMAN WOULD BELIEVE ME"

THIS MONTH OF HEARTS HERE AGAIN I WISH TO OFFER
A SINCERE HEART AND A HUMBLE SOUL FOR YOUR LOVE
ALWAYS BELIEVING THAT ONE DAY YOU CAN REMEMBER
A STRANGER NO MORE BUT A DEAR ONE FROM UP ABOVE!!

ORIGINAL POEM
BENE ILACAD BALLUG
