FYI-
When cut in half these bars have 1/8-3/16” gold plating exterior with lead center. If you drill deeper than the ¼” and get the drillings checked by a jeweler they may calculate the drillings as 18karat which probably results from mixing the 24karat gold plating with the lead.
With these dimensions a 99.9% bar should weigh 9 kilos but these fake bars only weigh 6.2 kilos:
5cm x 15.5cm top (1.97” x 6.10”)
8cm x 16cm bottom (3.15” x 6.30”)
4.5cm thick (1.77”)
6.2 kilos
Equals=
13.48 density (99.9% Gold =19.3)
16.72 karat
